What's the difference between the CM340 and CM520?

The CM520 offers 300 lb capacity at 11 ft with 16 ft max reach, ideal for larger awnings and pergolas. The CM340 is the entry-level option at 290 lb and 11 ft max reach, perfect for lighter overhead work.

Do portable lifts work for HVAC installation?

Absolutely. The CM520 and CA400 are widely used for overhead HVAC ductwork, mini-split installation, and exhaust fan mounting. The 110V motor provides smooth variable-speed lifting.

How do I transport a portable lift to the jobsite?

All models fold compact for pickup truck transport. The CM340 is the most compact; the CM520 and CA400 fold to fit standard 6 ft truck beds.

What power source do the lifts use?

Awnings & pergolas

The CM340 is the 46 lb access option for cassette awnings and lower installs where getting the machine to the spot is the constraint. The CM520 adds reach to 16 ft for pergolas and larger shade structures. The CA400 platform handles supported components at 330 lb.

Beams & structural

The BD2-S is the machine for this work. It ships with forks, a pipe cradle and a jib crane hook included, which is what makes it applicable to lighter beam and suspended-load work — up to its rated 400 lb capacity. Four swivel casters let it move sideways as well as fore-and-aft in a tight space.
